I FINSHED MY WIT
I've finished my WIT.
Lachlan, Connor and I
I am excited about our WIT now. WIT means Wildly Important Task. We did an Invertebrates slide for it. These are some comments from Te Pihinga:
- very cool guys,
- helps us find out which Insect is which,
- they rate 99.9% on our slide.
Students are to use this resource when they find a bug that they cannot identify in our Frankley Bush. Check it out...

My Information Report
The Life of a White Tail Spider
Did you know that rather than spinning a web to capture food, their preferred prey is other spiders? It is not native to New Zealand.
Habitat
White tail spiders live under stones, under leaves, in towels and shoes. They live there because it's dark, just like it is in the Frankley School Bush environment.
Diet
A White tail spider eats red back spiders and daddy long legs and brown house spider and they also eat other spiders. But they don't spin a web to catch their food, they use their predators webs. White Tail Spiders have bad eyesight so they go at night.
Protection
White tail spiders protection is using their fangs. In their fangs there is poison. The spider often hides in clothing, especially if it is left lying around on the floor
The Whitetail Spider is a very sneaky spider that has spread through New Zealand with ease, and although we have them in our Frankley School bush we probably have more inside the classroom than in the bush..

Wow! We found a beetle (we think it was a chafer or grass grub beetle) a centipede and some ants. The beetle ran around a lot when we were observing it in the tray. The centipede hides in the dirt. In our group we have Finn, Connor and Lachlan.
